Some people are in dying will mode constantly, without the flame (such as Ryohei). Make that part real by using it properly or you might as well not have it at all.įlames are shown as the 'dying will’ of a person, created through willpower at least as strong as the urge to complete or fix a final regret. Don’t just go “We’re the Luna family!” and grab random people and never reference what the name means in anything ever again and ignore it.
Much like normal names above, make it fit, make it work. You could be attached to another family entirely even! Be creative! If you choose to make your own family, be careful about the name. You can attach yourself to working families, like Dino’s if you make sure not to have too big of a connection to the other characters, maybe be the daughter of one of Dino’s unnamed men, or something else that isn’t a big name family connection that would make you seem stupidly Mary Sue. You can be an outside advisor, an ally, or anything else. You don’t even have to be connected at all. They’re your brotherhood, but do you have to make a new family every time you make a name? No. We’re calling these two different names for the sake of simplicity. More importantly for a mafia-centric RP, Famiglia. Suddenly their morals are stronger because what would their little brother think if they saw them do this? They might take less risks, or more risks if they’re the type to try and make Dad proud of their fighting! You can have stories “one time my sister ate a whole watermelon right?” and it can fill in the blanks of the world. Yes, this is the mafia, shit happens, but to the entire family tree? To every character? Even if you never use them again, a sibling or living parent can give dimension to a character as seen with characters like Gokudera or Tsuna’s ‘grandfatherly’ attachment to the Ninth. If your mother/father/sister/brother/cousin/nephew/uncle/aunt/grandma and the rest of their brethren are all dead just so you can play a character without attachments so you can be more bad ass and ignore the history a little, you may come off badly.

I’m just going to take the original rant and upgrade it to mafia here. Here’s the new and edited items you should be aware of:įamiglia, Flame, Box Weapon, Other Weapons, Ring, Skills, Tattoos, Piercings, Scars. Be careful not to overstep your bounds, and to give really good reasons when you do. Also KHR is very loose in some places, and not so much in others. There are spoilers, but if you haven’t completely read KHR, you might have issues roleplaying it anyways.
